Well since it seems like this is the review most people want, I might as well do it now!
Of course the game isn't out in English yet but I am fortunate and have a Japanese version.
Here is the intro (Can be a spoiler):
It is extremely beautiful! The intro seems to hint at things that I don't know about (or at least I'm going to pretend to not know about the ending or anything for this review so I don't spoil anything). So let us examine the game.
When you start you pick your gender and name and all of that classic Pokemon stuff. One major difference in this is the choice of Pokemon. You get yours right away. You still have to go through that silly intro stuff but at the very beginning you and your two friends each take a Pokeball from a gift box.
You do not start with the ability to run so... that kinda sucks... and you don't really start with Pokegear or any sort of touch controls at the bottom of the screen which is another huge disadvantage. A final big letdown is the integration of the 3D... it sucks. They could have made it a lot better and allowed you more movement behind buildings and such. But hey! The game is so pretty and the story is intriguing!
There are 156 new Pokemon with this game and everyone seems to be excited over them all! One somewhat disappointing, but definitely motivating thing is you have to have Pokedex data of every new Pokemon before you can catch older Pokemon! Now this is bad because you can't play through with your favorites, but it's amazing because you get to actually know these Pokemon. Most games just integrate the new ones into the old, this game makes it feel like a whole new game! If I were to suggest games to play, I would say Red/Blue, HeartGold/SoulSilver, Platinum, and Black/White.
I can't go into much detail about the story at all or else it'll pretty much ruin your experience... but I suggest once it comes out in English you get it. If you are an old Pokevet like me, you'll get that nostalgic and wonderful feeling of when you first shrunk down from that sprite into your room and walked out onto the grass leading out of Pallet town. This game is one you want to get without a doubt.
I appreciate you visiting my blog and providing input on my most recent post.
